Jamaican-American is new Broward County Mayor

BROWARD COUNTY, Florida — On November 19, 2019, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners unanimously elected Jamaican-American Dale VC Holness mayor of Broward County in Florida.  Holness, the first Jamaican-American to serve as mayor, has served for the past year as vice mayor.  Former State Senator and House Representative Steve Geller was also unanimously chosen by the commission as the new vice mayor of the County.
